Lowndes VINELink Release Coverage
Mississippi calls the program MS SAVIN, the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification system, and delivers it through VINE and VINELink. Official MDOC material says the service covers MDOC offenders and people held by participating county jail facilities. Status information begins with an electronic booking or corrections record supplied by the agency. That makes the service useful for following an identified person, but the supplying agency remains the source of the underlying custody fact.
Lowndes County Adult Detention Center participation was not proven through a stable official participant list during research. Test it by selecting Mississippi and searching the person, or call the Office of MS SAVIN. MDOC coverage is documented. Federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE custody are outside this state system. A person held locally for a federal authority may also lack a useful state VINE record, so the federal docket, USMS, BOP, or ICE channel may control.
Search a Lowndes Inmate
Use the most stable identifier available. A full legal name is common, but a booking or offender number can separate people with similar names. Compare date of birth and every other displayed identifier before accepting a match. Do not rely on a photo alone. Photos can be old, missing, or supplied by a different agency.

A true county release should be confirmed against the Lowndes booking and release transaction. An MDOC release or discharge belongs with the state offender-time record. If VINELink sends more than one alert, compare each event, agency, and time rather than treating the latest text as a full history.

Register Lowndes Release Notifications

Participating-agency data can lag. A booking correction, system migration, name variant, missing link, or agency nonparticipation can also prevent a record from appearing. Those local access failures make a silent online search especially weak evidence.
For a county release, call the jail and request the booking and release sheet. Ask whether the booking closed, the date and time recorded, the release authority or type, and whether the event was a community release or transfer. Follow Lowndes Custody Transfers
MS SAVIN’s Registration Link can carry a notification registration from county custody into MDOC or another participating system. This Lowndes-specific feature prevents a common error. If a name drops from the county roster and the next alert identifies an MDOC transfer, the person left the county building but stayed in custody.
Record each source agency and movement. County release, MDOC entry, parole, and final discharge may occur on different dates. If the registration does not link, search the receiving system directly and register on the matching record there. Never relabel a transfer alert as a release merely because the person no longer appears at the Adult Detention Center.
Note: Linked alerts preserve continuity across systems, but the receiving agency’s record still controls the next custody status.
Lowndes MDOC and VINE Records
VINELink and MDOC answer related but distinct questions. VINE is built for status notification. The MDOC inmate detail is the public state-custody record and can list identity fields, present location, sentence blocks, conviction county, and a Tentative Release Date. The separate MDOC Parolees Search can show a parole record, County Supervised, area, officer when populated, offenses, and a Flat Time Date. Neither state tool proves a county bond-out that never entered MDOC.
If a Lowndes release record says transfer to MDOC, compare the county disposition with the MDOC entry or location-change date. A linked VINE alert may supply a prompt notice, but MDOC Records controls offender time, jail credit, eligibility, and a requested release or discharge record. If the inmate search is empty while the parolee search matches, treat that as evidence of a parole-related public record, then call the Lowndes Community Corrections office for the correct public-status route. Do not infer completed discharge from an old Flat Time Date.

Read Lowndes Release Alert Sequences
Several alerts can describe one custody history.
